Find your way around the admin

Your admin is the private area where you run your competition site. The menu on the left is split into groups, one for each part of your business. This guide shows what is in each group so you know where to look.

Before you start

  • You need a staff account. If you do not have one yet, ask the owner of your site. Only Raffinity can add new admins, so the owner contacts us.
  • You may not see every item described here. See Who can see what below.

Look at the menu

Sign in (see Sign in to your admin) and look at the left of the screen. From the top, you will see:

  1. Overview. Your daily glance at sales, orders and things that need you. See Your Overview page.
  2. Orders. Every order, with tabs for the ones that need attention.
  3. Reports. Opens your reporting dashboard on your site, in a new tab. Admins only.
  4. Media. The pictures you have uploaded.

At the very top of the page there is also a dark bar with a Switch to Website link and a few live figures.

Below the first four items are the groups.

Who can see what

There are three kinds of staff account.

  • Admin. Can use everything in these guides.
  • Moderator. Sees only what the owner has switched on. By default a moderator can read contact messages and complaints, edit your site wording, mark prizes as sent, and look up orders and tickets. Customers, competitions, promo codes and popups are off by default.
  • Super admin. A role held by the Raffinity team. A few screens are only for them, and they are not covered in these guides.

Each guide says who can use the screen it describes. Your owner can change what moderators can do. See Your team and settings.

A few items only appear when they are relevant. For example, Launch Notify Sign-ups appears in the Marketing group when you collect "Notify me" email addresses on a holding page.

What your customers will see

Nothing here changes your live site. This guide is a tour of your admin only.

Tips

  • Use the search at the top of these guides when you cannot remember which group something is in.
  • If a menu item is missing, you probably do not have access to it. Ask an admin.

Common questions

Why can a colleague see a screen that I cannot? Moderators only see the screens the owner has switched on. Some screens are for admins only whatever the settings.

Can I rearrange the menu? No. The groups and their order are fixed.
