Run the Setup Wizard
The Setup Wizard is a guided set of questions that sets up your site for you. It is the quickest way to get from a new site to one that is ready for customers. It is for admins only.
Before you start
- Have your business name and contact details to hand.
- Decide roughly how you want your site to look, and which features you want to offer. You can change your mind later.
- Have your logo ready if you have one.
Open the wizard
- In the admin menu, open Help & Tools.
- Click Setup Wizard.
- Read the welcome screen, "Let's get your website ready". It says the wizard takes around 10 minutes and that you can change everything later.
- Click Start setup.
Save as you go
You do not have to finish in one go. Click Save at the top of the wizard at any time. You will see "Saved", and your changes are live on your website straight away. Next to it is Exit setup, which takes you out of the wizard.
Work through the steps
Each step asks a few questions. The top of the screen shows where you are, for example "Step 10 of 13". Click Continue to move on. Continue stays greyed out until you have answered what the step needs.
The steps come in this order.
- Your business. "First, tell us who you are."
- Contact. "How can customers reach you?"
- About. "Tell customers about you." This is the start of your About page. Short is fine. Until you add a picture, your logo is shown.
- Colours. "Choose your colours."
- Look and feel. Four short parts: "What should your website feel like?", "Pick a template", "Pick a style" and "Choose your fonts".
- Draws. "How do your draws work?"
- Prizes and policies. "Prizes, refunds and policies."
- Free postal entry. Your postal address and terms for free entries.
- Player protection. "Player protection and complaints."
- Features. "Choose your features". See Switch features on and off.
- Email. "Who do your emails come from?"
- Payments. "How will customers pay?" This step is for information only. You set up card payments in Settings, then Payments.
- Wallet. "Will you offer site credit?"
- Review. "You're ready to go." This step shows your website wording so you can check it.
When you finish you will see "Your website is ready."
Check your answers
Your answers become real settings on your site, such as your company details and the wording on pages like How It Works, Refunds and Responsible Play. After you finish, read your wording in Website, then Site Wording, and check that it describes how you really run things.
What your customers will see
The choices you make in the wizard are used on your live site, such as your colours, template, fonts and wording. Check your site afterwards, on a phone as well as a computer.
Tips
- Take your time over the draws, prizes and policies steps. The wording you choose is shown to customers.
- Do not worry about getting everything perfect. You can reopen the wizard and change any answer whenever you want.
Common questions
Can I come back to the wizard later? Yes. You can reopen it whenever you want and go back through the steps. Change what you need, then click Save.
Do I have to run the wizard? No. Most of what it covers can also be changed directly in the admin, in the screens named in these guides. The wizard is a faster way to do it in order.
Can I choose my own colours and fonts? Yes. The wizard asks you to choose colours and fonts, and you can fine-tune them later under Website, then Branding & Appearance.
